JMA-165 Accelerometer Nominated For Best Of Sensors Expo Award

The JMA-165 MEMS accelerometer has been selected as a finalist for the Best of Sensors Innovation Award. The award recognizes advances in sensor and sensor-related technologies, either in the form of novel technologies or significant improvements in existing technologies. The gold, silver, and honorable mention winners will be announced at the Sensors Expo on June 22.

The JMA-165 was also among three finalists for Direct Industry’s i-NOVO Design Award in April at Hannover Messe.

The JMA-165 series is a recent addition to the Jewell RailStar and MEMS accelerometer product lines. This is the industry’s first MEMS sensor to meet CENELEC/AREMA requirements for rail transportation.

This is a cost-effective and viable alternative to traditional precision sensors for rail applications. It has ±0.5 g and ±1 g measuring ranges with a built-in heater available for reduced thermal drift. To suit environmental standards, the series is RoHS compliant.

This sensor is vital for providing feedback on the performance and control of passenger trains. Use it for automated train controls, acceleration/deceleration control, rail maintenance, and testing, and train performance and testing.
