DIN-170 Modbus Digital I/O Modules


The DIN-170 series isolated digital input/output modules provide computer monitoring and control of industrial On/Off signals. The modules contain 6 discrete bits for sensing contact closures or controlling solid-state relays and annunciators. Each module communicates using the Modbus RTU serial protocol via an RS-485 serial port. Two models are available.

The DIN-171 digital input module contains six discrete digital inputs for sensing contact closures or switches.  The inputs contain internal pull-up resistors allowing for direct connection of switches or contacts without the need for external components. The digital inputs can accept +/-30Vdc signals without damage. The switching levels are less than +1Vdc equals a logic “0” and greater than +3.5Vdc equals a logic “1”.

The DIN-172 digital output module contains six open-collector digital outputs for controlling solid-state relays and annunciators. The outputs can be pulled up to +30Vdc and drive 100mA loads without damage.

The DIN-170 series remote I/O modules are compatible with all commercial software programs and OPC servers that support the Modbus RTU protocol. Commercials software programs from DreamReport, Wonderware, National Instruments Labview, Indusoft, DAQFactory and DASYLab all support the Modbus RTU protocol. OPC Servers from Kepware and MatrikonOPC support the Modbus RTU protocol.
