D6300 Thermocouple Input Module

The D6300 thermocouple input module contains seven differential inputs for measuring thermocouple temperature sensors.  Eight different thermocouple sensors can be measured, including types J, K, T, E, R, S, B and C.  Each input channel can be programmed to measure any one of eight types.

The module performs all signal conditioning, cold junction compensation, a 16-bit analog to digital conversion, linearization and stores the temperature result in a 16-bit unsigned integer format. The unsigned integer values represent a percentage of the temperature input full scale range.

The data values are transmitted to any supervisory host computer that supports the Modbus RTU serial protocol.  See the links to a Modbus scaling example and product documentation below.

Software

The D6300 series thermocouple input modules are compatible with all commercial software programs and OPC servers that support the Modbus RTU protocol. Commercials software programs from Wonderware, DreamReport, National Instruments Labview, Indusoft, DAQFactory and Dasylab all support the Modbus RTU protocol. OPC Servers from Kepware and MatrikonOPC support the Modbus RTU protocol.
